We love stories.

We love to read them, discover them, write them, and share them.

We think expansively about who is a philanthropist and what counts as philanthropy. How can we activate more of the power and promise of philanthropy to move towards communities and leaders on the frontlines of social change? We aim to democratize and diversify the sector in order to drive more resources to the individuals and organizations leading the movements of our time.

These briefs are meant to provide individual donors, donor networks, and philanthropic organizations with a short introduction to the histories and social movements of seven different groups in the US—African Americans; Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian (AMEMSA) Americans; Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI); Indigenous peoples; Jews of Color; Latinx people; and the LGBTQ+ community—with a special focus on their values and practices around philanthropy, giving, and community building.
